Field Air is most proud of its AIMS accreditation status. The Aerial Improvement Management System (“AIMS”) is a holistic and industry specific safety and management system standard developed by the AAAA’s. Further details on the AIMS standard can be obtained from the AAAA’s website.
The various management systems we have in place ensure that Field Air operates in accordance to Australian Standards, CASA regulations and applicable Australian legislation.
The aircraft maintenance division of Field Air has experienced personnel to carry out routine and overhaul maintenance on general aviation, piston and turbine aircraft including Air Tractor turbine Aircraft.
The Air Tractor range is designed for minimum maintenance. The PT6 turbine power plant is a proven reliable and long term engine.
Today, the maintenance division employees in excess of fifteen engineers including a Chief Engineer, eight Licenced Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (LAME's),as well as a team of Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AME's) and a number of apprentices.
In addition to working on Field Air's own fleet of aircraft, maintenance staff also handle the assembly and modification of Air Tractor aircraft for our Dealership activities. In addition, Field Air maintains a substantial fleet of training aircraft (including C172 Skyhawks and PA44 Seminoles) for the local Ballarat based STAA flight school.
Field Air Maintenance is also licensed to conduct Weight & Balance of aircraft, Hot Section Inspections on PT6A turbine engines and to issue Certificates of Airworthiness.

Field Air has operational bases at Ballarat, Victoria and Finley and Deniliquin in the NSW Riverina. We have further facilities at Hay and Jerilderie in NSW and Sea Lake in Victoria's Mallee. We specialize in the precision application of sprays and fertilizers to all cropping types including Rice, Cotton, Cereal, Legumes, Pastures and Forestry.

Agricultural operations are carried out with Field Air's fleet of turbine powered Air Tractor aircraft. The variety of aircraft capacity ensures load size can be appropriate to job. Our fleet services rural customers across Victoria and New South Wales.
With the advent of the purpose built Air Tractor AT-802F, firebombing was a natural progression for Field Air.
Fires seasons have become more severe over the past decade or more and accordingly Fire Agencies around Australia have progressively increased the scale and capability of their fixed wing aerial fire fighting resources.
Field Air provide both Contract and Call When Needed Single Engine Air Tankers, otherwise known as SEAT's, to various fire agencies in South Eastern Australia.
In 2010/2011 in a joint partnership with Conair Group of Canada, Field Air provided two larger Multi Engine Air Tankers (known by the acronym MEAT's) to the State of Victoria for a one season trial. These aircraft were a pair of Convair CV580's, each capable of carrying a payload of up to 7,950 litres.
In 2014/2015 and again in 2015/2016, Field Air is again proud to work with its partner Conair to bring a Large Air Tanker, the Avro RJ85, to Australia. The RJ is based at Avalon, just west of Melbourne. Carrying up to 12,253 lits and dispatching at up to 425 knots (787 km/hr), the RJ represents the future generation in large air tankers.
